Your privacy is our priority. This policy explains how data is handled in the RainAware mobile app ("the Service") to provide you with full transparency and control.
Our app is designed so that data collection is minimal and directly tied to the features you choose to use. You can use the core forecasting features of RainAware without providing any personal data.
Data is only collected if you choose to enable specific, optional features, as detailed below.
Our data collection is based entirely on the features you decide to use.
No data is collected or stored on our servers.
To provide alerts for your location, you must grant location permissions. This is an optional feature.
The optional cross-platform subscription feature requires you to sign in with your Google or Apple account. This creates an account in our system to link your subscription.
This section applies **only to subscribers** who have created an account.
For your privacy and security, we automatically and permanently delete all personal account information (Email, User ID, and associated alerts) for any subscriber account that has not been active within the app for 28 consecutive days. Data is re-written upon next use.
You may also request the deletion of your subscriber account at any time. To do so, please send an email to our support team.

Please include the email address associated with your RainAware subscription so we can identify your account. We will send a confirmation email once your data has been permanently deleted, typically within 7 days.
We are committed to protecting your data. We use standard security measures, such as data encryption (HTTPS/SSL), to protect information transmitted to and from our servers.
We use third-party services to provide our application's functionality. These services have their own privacy policies and handle data as described below:
Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take necessary action.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
